About us

The Macedonia Community Council of Victoria it’s an organisation that incorporates Macedonian Organisation, Businesses, intellectuals and individuals in Victoria.

It was founded in the late 1990’s and resurrected again earlier 2000’s in the capacity that operates today.

It’s governed by a constitution and managed by a Board of Management.

Its aims and objectives are clearly set in its Constitution and they are:

  • To promote, co-ordinate and unify the work and actions of the Macedonian Community in Victoria
  • To promote and defend the interests of the Macedonian population of Victoria in the areas of civil rights, Macedonian language and culture, religious, political, social and welfare fields
  • To promote a greater awareness of the Macedonian culture, language, history and struggles within the Macedonian Community of Victoria and particularly amongst Macedonian youth
  • To encourage further development of the Macedonian community in Australia
  • To foster greater understanding of the Macedonian culture, language, history and struggles amongst other ethnic minorities and other groups within the broader Australian community
  • To encourage greater awareness, support and co-operation between the Macedonian Community and other social and community groups
  • To maintain the link between the Macedonian Community in Australia and Macedonian community living overseas and in particular with the homeland the Republic of Macedonia
  • To provide humanitarian assistance to people of Macedonian origin both within Victoria and in any other part of the world
  • To act as spokes body and representative of the Macedonian Community on Victoria and liaise and appropriate with relevant government and or semi government departments and agencies,  media and other relevant organisations and groups.

Constitution

The underlining principle is to unite, promote, coordinate and lead the Macedonian Community in Victoria so that we can make our community one of the most respected, valued and appreciated communities in Victoria and Australia.
